Central Park Bike Tours

Central Park is one of the most popular tourist attractions. Whether it’s the 6 miles of land that there is to cover, the family friendly attractions, or the diverse historical value that it offers, Central Park is surely a must-see-spot when visiting New York City. If you’ve never toured the park on a bike, then you’re never really experienced Central Park the way it should be.

Central Park Bike Tours will take you on a trip through the park, making stops along the way to see the most requested sites.  One of our professional tour guides will share with you all of the inside facts and history that make the park so popular.

We have tours that vary in length, so no matter how much or how little time you have, we’ll fill it with a unique, one-of-a-kind journey through Central Park.

Who can go on the Central Park Bicycle Tour?

Our tours are family friendly. However, since you’ll be riding bicycle, we don’t recommend that young children or elderly folks do our Central Park Bicycle Tour. The ride does include some pretty steep hills, and we want everyone to remain safe on the tour. If you have children or are older and can’t pedal a bike, we would absolutely love to have you along on one of our pedicab tours. Our tour guide will pedal while you and your family sit back and enjoy the views.

What do I need to bring with me when I check in for my bike tour?

You just need to bring yourself and your confirmation email. We’ll send that right to your email address so that you can either print it out, or if you have a smart phone, you can pull it right up on there.

What will we see on the bike tour?

The exact parts of the Central Park that you’ll see will vary based on how long of a bike tour you take. The more time you have, the more we’ll be able to share with you. Depending on how long you booked your tour, we’ll show you a number of places including Strawberry fields, Dakota building, Cherry Hill, Bethesda Fountain, Bow bridge, Belvedere Castle and Reservoir. Our traditional bike tours are 2 hours, giving us plenty of time to take a look at some of the park’s key spots. We’ll tell you some of the deep history about many aspects of the park. And of course, if you have any specific spots you wanted to see, just tell us!

How long is a tour / I don’t have much time / I have 5 hours to fill!

Usually, our Central Park Bicycle Tours are about 2 hours. If you wanted a shorter rental time, we do offer 1 hour tours. If you have a larger gap of time to fill, you might consider our pedicab tours which enable us to take you on much longer tours, covering more sites and tourist attractions. You can find out more about our Pedicab Tours right here. You should at least set aside the 2 hours if possible so that you can get the most out of the tour.

Do I need to give advance notice before coming to pick up a bike? Can I just stop in?

We only have a limited number of bicycles, so we don’t allow you to rent a bike or schedule a tour without a reservation. You can book them right online! We’ll make sure your bike is ready along with your helmet, locker, and map if you need one. Luckily, our tour guides know right where to go, so getting lost won’t be a problem.

Why should I take a Central Park Bike Tour?

A bike tour gives you the opportunity to see Central Park in a whole new way. Most people have only seen pictures of the park, or have seen it represented in a movie. They don’t know the details about who owns Central Park, how Central Park got its name, or who built Central Park. If these are things that you’ve been dying to know, then there’s no reason why you shouldn’t take a bike tour with us.

Our professional bike tour guides are passionate about Central Park, and you’ll be able to tell that as soon as you meet them. No matter how old or young you are, you’re going to love interacting and learning new things about Central Park.

The added bonus is that vacations are a time when a lot of people forget their exercise and just have fun. Hey, we’re all about fun, but there’s nothing wrong with a little bit of working out, especially when you’re having fun while doing it. Our 2 hour bike tour will allow you to get a leisurely exercise in while seeing the sites and learning the history about Central Park. You’ll forget you’re even exercising!
